Dr. Cole Talton
Dr. Talton is a Doctor of Chiropractic, an Athletic Trainer and lifelong learner. Doctor Talton hails from the sunshine state. Doctor Talton received his doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic and his bachelors in athletic training from Bridgewater College.
Doctor Talton was born in Jacksonville, Florida and attended grade school in Winchester Virginia. It was there that his love for medicine was formed. Doctor Talton was an All-State Cross Country, and Track runner, as well as the captain of the baseball team. During his sophomore year of highschool, doctor Talton had a tumor removed from his right lower leg, requiring rehabilitation to return to sport. During this rehabilitation, a love for sports medicine was cultivated. After spending countless hours with the Athletic Training staff Talton knew his passion for sports medicine would lead him to a Bachelors in Athletic Training. Dr. Talton attended Bridgewater College and served as an Athletic Trainer for the Bridgewater College Athletic programs; baseball, football, track and field as well as men’s and women’s basketball. Dr. Talton then went on to Harrisonburg highschool for his pediatric rotation with the football team. Dr. Talton additionally did a surgical rotation with Harrisonburg Ear Nose and Throat surgeons as well as a physical therapy rotation with Sentara Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
During his time at Bridgewater College, Dr. Talton formed the Bridgewater College Rugby team and served on the Student Council. Dr. Talton knew he would become a chiropractor following a compression fracture of his thoracic spine resulting in severe back pain. Dr. Talton consulted with his mentor, an ear nose and throat surgeon, regarding alternative options for treatment that would not require opiate pain killers and surgery. Dr. Talton then learned about chiropractic and began reaching out to local chiropractors to learn more about the profession. Dr. Talton attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and quickly sought out leadership, first becoming the class representative and then student body vice president. Talton was a member of several clubs that taught him diverse techniques such as flexion and distraction, upper cervical manipulation, spinal rehabilitation and became a member of the sports council. Talton tutored several students and was promoted to Clinical Assistant during his time at Palmer.
Talton practiced in Melbourne, Florida prior to joining the Mid Atlantic team. Talton has a passion for sports medicine, diagnosing rare conditions and spreading the good news of chiropractic. Talton is devoted to improving the lives of everyone in the Frederick Community and loves seeing patients improve their lives through holistic medicine.
Talton’s hobbies include; golfing, hiking, going to the beach and spending time with family.
